NFL Schedule for Thursday Night Football Games: October 2017

Cord Cutter’s NFL Schedule for Thursdays in October

One of my favorite nights of the week is Thursday. Not only are you one day away from the weekend, you’ve also got Thursday Night Football to tide you over until game day on Sunday. If you love Thursday Night Football as much as I do, then I’ve got good news.

For the entire month of October you’ll be able to watch Thursday Night Football for free and without cable. How’s that possible? The answer is that every single Thursday night is set to air nationally on the broadcast network CBS with no blackouts or alternate games.

And the only thing you need to pick up a broadcast network like CBS is an over-the-air (OTA) TV antenna. Just like the rabbit ears that most of us grew up with, OTA antennas give you access to all of the broadcast networks in your area; the only difference being that modern antennas are easier to use and are in 1080i HD.

Thursday Night Football Schedule – October 2017

Here’s a quick preview of the Thursday Night Football games you can look forward to this month:

October 12

Philadelphia Eagles vs. Carolina Panthers, 8:25 PM, CBS

Next up is the Philadelphia Eagles vs. Carolina Panthers. Over the last three meetings, both teams have managed to keep things close, but regardless the Eagles have managed to walk away the victor two out of the three times. Both teams look to be evenly matched so look for an exciting showdown between the two.

October 19

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Oakland Raiders, 8:25 PM, CBS

Historically speaking, this has been a bit of a one-sided match-up. In the last three meetings between these two teams, the Chiefs have won ever single time. Granted, all three games happened in 2016 but if anything that makes results more relevant. The Chiefs look strong, but nothing spells “Upset” like a team certain of victory, so we’ll see.

October 26

Miami Dolphins vs. Baltimore Ravens, 8:25 PM, CBS

Earlier this year, during the preseason, the Dolphins suffered a stinging 31-7 defeat against the Ravens. For this Thursday Night game, you can bet that the Miami Dolphins will be looking for a little revenge. The Ravens, for their part, will be looking to repeat their preseason success. Will history repeat itself? There’s only one way to find out.

If you happen to find yourself out of town for one of these games, don’t forget that you can also stream Thursday Night Football via CBS All Access, which costs $6 a month, or Amazon Prime, which costs $99 a year. Both services offer free trials, one week for CBS and one month for Amazon, so you shouldn’t have to pay anything to watch the game. Just be sure to cancel before your trial ends.
