The Cordcutter Chronicles: Your weekly dose of what’s happening in cord cutting

  • This Earth Day marked 3 years of ReLeaf
  • Pay TV shows first signs of revenue losses
  • The 2019 NFL Draft started yesterday

Third Anniversary of ReLeaf

3 years ago on Earth Day, Mohu created the world’s first eco-friendly antenna: ReLeaf. Since then, ReLeaf’s received recognition from publications like Digital Trends and Consumer Reports as one of the best antennas on the market.

We are so proud of ReLeaf’s success and how it’s help people save money AND the environment.

Pay TV is Losing Revenue

For the first time ever, Pay TV is seeing revenue loss. Traditional cable and satellite companies have been losing subscribers for years, but 2018 numbers show their first decline in revenue.

Business Insider reports that “Revenue from traditional US pay-TV access, including cable, satellite, and telecom services, fell 3% in 2018 to $103.4 billion… And it’s going to get worse in 2019, according to Convergence, which estimated another 3% drop this year.”

2019 NFL Draft

No Pay TV subscription? No problem! This year, the NFL draft is being broadcast on ABC as well as ESPN, ESPN2, and the NFL Network. The first round started yesterday, but all you need to tune in the rest of the weekend is an antenna.
