However, in recent years Telemundo has been making changes to how it makes televisions shows and the new telenovela &#8220;Super Series&#8221; has been born. And for many folks, these new Super Series can be <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gomohu.com\/blog\/cutting-the-cord\/cord-cutting-guide-hispanic-american-tv-viewers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">enjoyed for free<\/a> with an <a href=\"http:\/\/store.gomohu.com\/antennas.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">over-the-air antenna<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A super series is different from the typical telenovela in that there are fewer episodes per season, the story is much more fast paced, and the production quality is a lot higher. One of the driving catalysts for this change was the overall shift in television from episodic shows to serialized ones.<\/p>\n<p>Today, we&#8217;re going to take a look at some of Telemundo&#8217;s hottest <strong>super series<\/strong> as well as take a peak at one that&#8217;s set to premiere later this year. Are you ready to take the action up to 11? Then let&#8217;s get started!<\/p>\n<h3><em>El Se\u00f1or de los Cielos<\/em><\/h3>\n<p>Entering into its fourth season is the smash hit American produced telenovela <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.telemundo.com\/novelas\/el-senor-de-los-cielos\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">El Se\u00f1or de los Cielos<\/a><\/em>. In <em>El Se\u00f1or de los Cielos<\/em>, we follow ruthless drug dealer Aurelio Casillas. As a man of humble beginnings, Casillas is a complicated man filled with contradictory traits; from a virtuous person striving to do right to a power hungry sociopath bent on clawing his way to the top.<\/p>\n<p>As Casillas is relentlessly hunted down by his enemies and the DEA,\u00a0the self-proclaimed &#8220;Lord of Heaven&#8221; will discover that on the road to wealth and power there is no turning back. If you loved Breaking Bad, then you&#8217;ll definitely want to check out <em>El Se\u00f1or de los Cielos<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h3><em>Se\u00f1ora Acero<\/em><\/h3>\n<p>Next up is <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.telemundo.com\/novelas\/senora-acero\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Se\u00f1ora Acero<\/a><\/em>, which is returning for its second season. At 35 years old, Sara Aguilar seems to have the perfect life. But when her husband is murdered by drug lords, she not only has to save her family but also deal with the fact that her husband was not the man she thought she knew.<\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;ll find some parallels in the story to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gomohu.com\/blog\/whats-on\/more-hbo-and-showtime-shows-to-watch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Showtime show<\/a> <em>Weeds<\/em>, but this show is less comedic and escalates a lot quicker. As the show progresses, Sara gets pulled deeper and deeper into the shady world of international drug trafficking and how far she&#8217;ll fall is anyone&#8217;s guess.<\/p>\n<h3><em>La Querida Del Centauro<\/em><\/h3>\n<p>Our final telenovela super series is <em><a href=\"https:\/\/en.m.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/La_querida_del_Centauro\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">La Querida Del Centauro<\/a><\/em>, which is set to premiere in October. <em>La Querida Del Centauro<\/em> will tell the story of a woman named Yolanda. In order to save her daughter, Yolanda will have to risk her life by serving as bait to help catch the most dangerous drug lord in Mexico.<\/p>\n<p>There isn&#8217;t a lot more information about the show other than that; but if it&#8217;s anything like <em>Se\u00f1ora Acero<\/em> or <em>El Se\u00f1or de los Cielos<\/em> it&#8217;s going to be an exciting roller coasters ride of twists, turns, and plenty of explosions.<\/p>\n<p>If you love telenovelas and are tired of the same old thing, then I would highly recommend you check out these super series. They&#8217;ve got action, suspense, and best of all explosions that will jar you out of the same old romantic melodrama you&#8217;ve come to expect from telenovelas.
