Streaming Comes Up Big with Emmy Nominations

The nominations for the 2016 Emmy Awards were unveiled last week, and the real winners are us cord cutters. Virtually every show that received a nomination is available without a cable or satellite subscription (many of them even available for free over the air).

If you’re curious about which HBO series/specials received nominations, check out this list. Luckily for us cord cutters, we can now enjoy these HBO programs through HBO NOW. But for the sake of this post, we focused on Netflix, Amazon Video, and Crackle, which are only available through online streaming. These three services came up really big this year with more than 65 nominations.
