Mohu’s ReLeaf antenna wins Gold for Consumer Product of the Year at the 2016 Best in Biz Awards
Raleigh, NC – December 6, 2016 – Mohu – the leading over-the-air HDTV antenna maker – and its ReLeaf antenna has been named a gold winner in Consumer Product of the Year at this year’s Best in Biz Awards, the only independent business awards program judged by members of the press and industry analysts. This is the second consecutive year Mohu has won gold in Best in Biz Awards, winning for Product Line of the Year in 2015.
Launched in June 2016, ReLeaf is the industry’s first and only eco-friendly HDTV antenna made from discarded cable set-top boxes and post-consumer recycled paper. The product provides consumers with free access to the same broadcast networks that cable provides, like ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX.
ReLeaf is a top-quality antenna in Mohu’s line of OTA innovation that has propelled the cord cutting movement, helping more than 22M U.S. consumers use an antenna to access free high definition television. As the leading HDTV antenna company, Mohu has helped millions of consumers save more than $300 million by reducing or eliminating their typical pay TV monthly costs. Mohu’s commitment to award-winning, eco-friendly packaging methods has allowed the company to recycle 146 tons of 100% corrugated packaging, which saved 735,000 gallons of water, 1,785 trees and 420,000 kWh, prevented 105 tons of CO2 waste and diverted 347 cubic yards of landfill in 2015.
The sixth annual Best in Biz program in North America garnered more than 600 entries, from an impressive array of public and private companies of all sizes and from a variety of industries and geographic regions in the U.S. and Canada. Best in Biz Awards 2016 honors were presented in 60 categories, including Company of the Year, Fastest-Growing Company of the Year, Most Innovative Company of the Year, Best Place to Work, Technology Department of the Year, Executive of the Year, Most Innovative Product of the Year, Best New Product of the Year, App of the Year, PR Campaign of the Year and Website of the Year.
“We are honored that Mohu’s ReLeaf antenna has been recognized as the gold consumer product of the year,” said Mohu CEO, Mark Buff. “It’s fantastic to see an anti-cable, pro-environment, and pro-savings cord cutting product win such a prestigious title. This is another example of the momentum cord-cutting has in today’s society and Mohu is happy to continue to play a major role in this movement.”
